From a young age, Daniel Taiwo Odukoya desired to make a meaningful difference. Though initially drawn to politics, he ultimately found his calling in serving people's spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. He was the senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church from its inception in 1992 until his passing in August 2023.
Prior to his ministry, Odukoya worked for 12 years as a petroleum engineer. He co-pastored the church with his wife, Bimbo Odukoya, who was a highly influential figure in her own right. Her "Single & Married" television programme and ministry provided practical guidance on relationships, emphasizing holiness, character, and integrity, making her a beloved mentor and role model.
Bimbo Odukoya was also a prolific writer and columnist for various publications and authored the book "How To Choose A Life Partner." Her significant impact was recognized when she was chosen to represent Nigeria by carrying the Olympic Torch at the 2004 Games in Athens.
Under their leadership, The Fountain of Life Church grew from a humble beginning into a network of ministries in Nigeria and abroad. Pastor Taiwo hosted large-scale meetings like "Discovery for Men" and "Discovery for Women," which reached thousands. The ministry's message centered on leadership development and building successful relationships and enterprises.
Pastor Taiwo was a strong believer in the church's role in socio-economic development, a principle expressed through the church's numerous social initiatives. He was also an accomplished author of many widely read books on personal and spiritual development.
The couple's legacy is powerfully embodied in the lasting initiatives they established. These include the Nidus Aquilae medical centre, The Hope centre which provides meals, an education support project, a water project installing boreholes, and the Area Boys rehabilitation project for street youth.
Furthermore, the Grace Springs business and vocational centre was created to equip the unemployed with new skills. Believing in Nigeria's potential, they also launched programs focused on equipping both genders for leadership roles to foster national transformation.
Though translated to glory, Pastor Taiwo and Pastor Bimbo Odukoya’s vision continues to guide The Fountain of Life Church. Their legacy of commitment to empowering others, fostering leadership, and supporting the less privileged lives on, inspiring future generations.
