Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, also known as Sinach, is a worship leader from Nigeria who has been singing gospel music for over 30 years. She is the first solo artist to spend 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard Christian Songwriter list. While on tour in the US in 2021, she received recognition from the US Congress in addition to her several other international honors.
During her trip to Israel in December 2017, Sinach was presented with a commemorative award from the Bethlehem Hall of Faith. Sinach made history in September 2019 when she became the first gospel performer from Africa to tour India, headlining events that drew large crowds. She topped the Billboard Christian Songwriters list in May 2020, making history as the first African artist to do so.
She became a voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy in July 2022. Sinach was appointed as a global ambassador by the Commonwealth of Dominica's government in a letter dated February 2023 and signed by the prime minister, Roosevelt Skerrit.
