 » GOSPEL MUSIC LEGEND AWARD

Kunle Ajayi is the Music Director of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and a Nigerian televangelist, saxophonist, singer, and songwriter of gospel music.
Along with his buddies, he started a group named "The Ambassadors" and produced his debut record. After completing a one-year curriculum at Faith Bible College, he was ordained as an assistant Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1991. He eventually became a full pastor in 1997. Thereafter, he attended the Adeniran Ogunsanya Institute of Education in Ijanikin to study music. Then he went on to the Royal College of Music in London, where he earned a music certificate.
He began playing the saxophone, in particular, in the early 1980s, but soon stopped due to a lung condition that almost caused damage to his larynx.
He had made important contributions to Nigerian gospel music throughout the years, and he is currently the Redeemed Christian Church of God's director of music. He was given the Award of Excellence by the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 2007 and the "Leadership award in Nigerian music" in 2008 in honor of his enormous contributions to gospel music in Nigeria.
Ajayi commemorated his 30 years on stage with a music concert at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites on January 21, 2018, to appropriately account for his accomplishment and his relentless pursuit of greatness in the Gospel Music industry.
